Flora of manipur

- Tropical and Subtropical Forests: These forests are found in the lowland regions of Manipur and support a range of tropical hardwood trees, including Sal (Shorea robusta), Teak (Tectona grandis), and Bamboo species.

- Hoolock Gibbons: The Hoolock Gibbon, India’s only ape species, is found in the forests of Manipur, particularly in the Mao area.
- Tigers and Leopards: Manipur is home to both the Royal Bengal Tiger and the Indian Leopard, although their populations are limited and primarily confined to protected areas.
- Wild Boar and Civets: Wild boars, civets, and other small mammals are also present in the forests of the state.
2. Birds
- Manipur Bush Quail: An endemic species, this quail is found in the dry grasslands of Manipur.
